RESEARCHER COCOON

Description :
- At this project we required to visit Taman Botani Negara to do observation for the place or site for our cocoon.
- Then we have to determine our selected elements of inspiration which we want to use for our cocoon. either it is flora or fauna.
-  The next stage, we have to make the design proposal, to illustrate the activity in the researcher cocoon and determine who is our researcher.
- Then we have to design the cocoon from the transformation of our element, without losing the design and identity from our elements that we choose. we required to create 3 to 5 study model or mock model. Soon, lecturers assist to determine our final study model to continue to the final model .
- After study model, we have to make the final model in 1 : 20 scale with maximum of dimension is 8000 mm *8000 mm.
- Lastly, we will make 4 A2 size presentation board for our design

DRAWINGS PROGREESION

I decided to choose the river side which is located at block B in Taman Botani Negara as the prposed site for the cocoon.  the quite, solemn, and calm situation make me fully interested at this place.

STAGE 2 : ELEMENTS  OF INSPIRATION

Dragonfly (anisoeptra)

At the riverside, there are a lot of dragonflies. that was inspired me to choose dragonfly as the elements of my design. dragonfly has a lot of characteristic of its body parts.

STAGE 3 : DESIGN PROPOSAL

The researcher is DR. Gray. He is very conservatif and that is why he is called DR Gray ( based on psychology of color ).  There are some activities that DR Gray does daily

- The main activity is do analysis, experiment, observation on dragonfly specifically

- Sleep and read books 

- Mindfulness (meditation) and yoga or stretching 

STUDY MODEL / MOCK MODEL PROGRESSION

All study model is a transformation from the wings, eye, and body of dragonfly

transformation from the body of dragonfly, where the top and bottom side , rotated to the opposite way (right and left) 

transformation from the eye of dragonfly, and 6 legs of dragonfly

Transformation from the wings. where the wings blow up and show every angle curvy 

The form is a repetition from the wings of dragon fly. From the previous one, the angel of the first floor and second floor was rotated  to the 30 ०

Gracium is a 3 floors building for researcher cocoon DR Gray. the building typically shaped curvy. 

The building use repetition form, the construction use centralize system and the works of GRACIUM, used radial system.

PRESENTATION BOARD A2 SIZE

The first board shows the site proposed of my cocoon GRACIUM.  GRACIUM is a name from "gray" and "officium" which is the mean is office/ place of DR. Gray. 

The cocoon is located in the strategic place. which is flanked / surrounded by 3 separate small island/ ground and also connected to the mainland by the long bridge. The place is quite, solemn, and calm because it is separate from mainland and that is why the place is very appropriate for DR Gray.

The elevation of front view and section  drawn and rendered manually and photos of the elevation of the right view, left view, and rear view.

Oblique drawing or the axonometric with 45० - 45०. However the 45० - 45० can be used only for the ground floor, while the first floor and second floor  used the adjusted angel , which is 30० to the left.

There are 3 perspective drawings for each floor. two point perspective for the ground floor and first floor, and one point perspective drawing for the second floor. The 3 perspective drawings shows the best angel view of every floor. Every Vanishing Point shows the part / space  for DR Gray to do his daily activities in every floor.
